What the projections can explain, what they leave out, and why a calculated result is not a promise about an actual account or investment.

1. Educational estimates only

Compound Interest Calculator at compound-interest-calculator.co provides mathematical illustrations to help you explore assumptions. Its calculators, explanations, formulas, examples, charts, and downloads are not individualized financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. A result is not a recommendation, suitability assessment, product offer, or guarantee.

The website does not know your financial position, objectives, risk tolerance, tax circumstances, benefits, liabilities, or local rules. Entering real amounts does not change that limitation or create an advisory relationship. Seek appropriately qualified advice when you need an assessment of your circumstances.

2. Interest rates and returns are assumptions

Rates in examples and default fields are editable illustrations, not live rates obtained from a bank or investment provider. The model holds the entered rate constant. It does not predict rate changes, reinvestment opportunities, market performance, or the availability of a product paying that rate.

Investment values can fall, and losses may occur even over a long period. This calculator accepts nonnegative rates and does not simulate losses or volatility. A smooth upward curve is a feature of the chosen fixed-rate model, not evidence that an actual investment will grow smoothly or recover from losses.

3. Timing and compounding conventions

The model uses equal monthly periods. Nominal annual rates are converted using the selected annual, quarterly, monthly, or daily compounding frequency; daily means 365 periods per year. When APY is selected in Grow savings, it already represents annual growth including compounding, so the separate frequency setting does not apply.

Actual accounts may use calendar dates, daily balances, leap-year conventions, tiered rates, minimum balances, payment delays, or product-specific rounding. The website does not reproduce those arrangements. Beginning and end payment settings can materially change interest. At zero duration no future payment is applied, and the opening row shows the balance before any beginning payment.

4. Growth projections and inflation

Grow savings assumes that the scheduled deposits are made at the chosen times and that interest remains in the modeled balance. It does not verify that you can afford those deposits, that an account accepts them, or that they meet contribution rules.

The optional inflation estimate expresses the final growth-mode balance in today's purchasing power using a constant assumed inflation rate. It does not forecast inflation, change the nominal account balance, increase each deposit with inflation, or represent every household's cost of living. Selecting a currency changes formatting only and provides no exchange-rate conversion or protection from currency risk.

5. Savings targets are conditional plans

Savings goal estimates a regular monthly deposit using your starting balance, target, duration, nominal rate, and timing. The payment is rounded upward to a cent and then projected. A zero suggested payment means that the model's starting balance and assumed interest cover the target; it is not advice to stop saving.

The target milestone identifies a modeled month, not an exact calendar day or a guaranteed outcome. Missing deposits, earning less interest, paying fees, or changing the timeline can prevent the target from being reached. Consider alternative assumptions rather than relying on one favorable scenario.

6. Withdrawals and retirement limitations

Withdrawals models fixed monthly or yearly requests against an available balance. A payment cannot exceed the balance available at that point. The result distinguishes actual money withdrawn, the first zero balance, and requests that cannot be funded in full. It does not create a loan, overdraft, or new deposit to cover a shortfall.

This is not a safe-withdrawal-rate study or a retirement plan. It excludes return volatility, sequence-of-returns risk, longevity, taxes, benefit rules, changing spending, and inflation-linked increases in withdrawals. A projected balance lasting for the selected period does not prove your savings will support you in real life. The tool also does not judge whether a withdrawal is permitted or subject to a penalty.

7. Costs, taxes, and rules not included

Unless a field explicitly says otherwise, results do not deduct account charges, investment expenses, advisory fees, transaction costs, taxes, or withdrawal penalties. They do not apply tax allowances, contribution limits, retirement-account rules, deposit insurance limits, or protections offered by a financial institution.

The website does not compare providers, verify eligibility, or certify that a product is regulated, insured, suitable, or available in your country. Check the provider's actual agreement and current rules before committing money.

8. Rounding, software errors, and saved results

The application retains more precision than it displays. Rounded amounts may not reconcile to the cent when you subtract displayed figures, and different compounding or timing conventions can produce different answers. Independent examples and tests reduce errors but cannot guarantee error-free software in every browser or scenario.

Exports and shared links reproduce assumptions from the tool; they are not audited statements or official financial records. Keep the assumptions with the result and verify important calculations independently. A later correction to the website will not automatically update a saved image, CSV, or printout. Report suspected errors with non-sensitive settings and the result you expected.

9. Sources, affiliations, and commercial content

Links to Investor.gov, Microsoft, and other references help explain concepts and formulas. Those organizations do not endorse Compound Interest Calculator, verify an individual result, or sponsor the website merely because they are cited. Their content and services are governed by their own terms.

The current calculator does not display paid advertisements or affiliate product recommendations. If a commercial relationship is introduced, relevant advertising or affiliate disclosures must accompany the affected content. A general disclaimer should not be treated as a substitute for a clear disclosure beside a recommendation.

10. Your decisions and legal rights

You choose the assumptions and decide how to use the result. Before acting, compare the calculation with actual product terms, account information, and advice appropriate to the decision. Do not use the site as the sole basis for a consequential financial commitment.

This disclaimer explains the limits of the service. It does not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, remove mandatory consumer protections, or override rights you have under applicable law. Read the Terms of Use for the broader conditions of using the website.
